As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will offer advice, field support, recommendations, solutions, and documentation to clients in Vancouver and nearby areas as part of my client’s Health & Safety Essentials service. You will typically work Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., but flexibility is essential as business needs may vary with client volume. Successful candidates may have opportunities for advancement. Additionally, the role involves providing expert support to the health and safety advice team to ensure accurate guidance and recommendations are delivered to clients.
The Health & Safety Advisor position is a field-based role in Vancouver. A valid license and access to your own vehicle is mandatory.
A CRSP designation or exam to be completed by Feb 2025 is required.
Day-to-Day Duties and Responsibilities
* Maintain a strong understanding of British Columbia’s Occupational Health and Safety Act.
* Proactively reach out to clients to follow up on advice, solutions, support, or recommendations provided.
* Conduct client installation visits.
* Deliver relevant, accurate advice, support, solutions, and recommendations to clients in a professional, efficient, and practical manner.
* Liaise with government officials and other third parties on behalf of clients, under the supervision of Peninsula’s management.
* Complete internal reports following client visits.
* Review and analyze client policies and related documentation to provide appropriate advice, support, solutions, and recommendations.
* Guide clients on utilizing my client’s health and safety management system.
* Meet internal key performance indicators.
Education/Experience
* A degree or diploma from an accredited college or university
* CRSP Designation
* Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Legislation throughout Canada
* A strong background in developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety programs such as, but not limited to, training, auditing, evaluating process risks, safe work procedures program management and managed systems approach
* A minimum of 4 plus years of relevant work experience in health and safety
